Telegram announced on Monday that Stories are now available to all users. The feature was first available to Premium customers last month and is now available to everyone. The announcement comes as Telegram turns 10.
Telegram’s latest feature allows users to edit Stories after posting, which sets it different from other platforms. Once live, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and TikTok Stories cannot be edited. If you wish to alter something, remove the Story and start over. Telegram’s Stories feature is unique.
Telegram blogged, “For the first time in the history of social media, you can update any element of your story at any time – changing its visibility, caption, on-screen text, stickers or anything else – without having to delete and repost it from scratch.”
Telegram Stories’ rest is identical to other platforms.
You can share your Stories with everyone, your connections, a few contacts, or close pals. Stories appear in an expanded segment at the top of your conversation list. You can hide Stories posted by any contact by moving them to the “Hidden” list in your Contacts.
Choose when your narrative expires. You can expire it in 6, 12, 24, or 48 hours. You can also permanently show Stories on your profile page like Instagram does. Stories can also have captions and links. You can also tag others in Stories. You may also share BeReal-like photographs and movies from the front and rear cameras concurrently.
The story bonus is still available to Telegram Premium members, even though Stories are now open to all users. Premium users can set Stealth Mode to delete their views from stories they opened in the past five minutes and hide them for 25 minutes.
In a recent announcement, Pavel Durov, the CEO of Telegram, revealed that customers had been expressing their desire for the Stories feature for several years. Durov, expressed their initial opposition to incorporating Stories into their platform. Durov mentioned that the reason behind this reluctance was the perception that Stories were already prevalent across various social media platforms. However, the firm decided to take a different approach by actively listening to the feedback and demands of its consumers.
